A senior waiting for a train at a Midtown subway station was shoved onto the tracks completely unprovoked early Wednesday morning, police said.

According to law enforcement sources, the disturbing incident unfolded just before 4 a.m. inside the Rockefeller station. A 72-year-old straphanger was standing on a northbound F and D train platform when he was approached from behind and pushed onto the roadbed.

The victim was able to pull himself back onto the platform before a train pulled into the station. EMS whisked him to Mount Sinai West Hospital for treatment, where he was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder. He was listed in stable condition.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was taken into custody by officers. He has been identified as Francisco Garcia and hails from Mexico. He has been charged with reckless endangerment and assault. Cops say that the attack was unprovoked and that the pair did not have any interaction prior to the shove.
