A chain-reaction collision left three people injured and destruction on a Manhattan street on Thursday morning, with one of the vehicles involved fleeing the scene.

At least three vehicles were left completely demolished at the intersection of West 204th Street and Sherman Avenue, with twisted metal and other debris scattered over the sidewalk and roadway. Police sources say it all happened just after 6:30 a.m. when the driver of a Corvette was seen speeding eastbound on Sherman Avenue. He collided with a Mercedes-Benz, sending the vehicle hurtling through the air and caving in its rear end.

The chain reaction did not end there. The Corvette carried on and struck a 34-year-old man who was walking on Sherman Avenue.

EMS rushed to the scene and whisked the injured pedestrian to Harlem Hospital, where they are listed in stable condition. The driver of the Corvette and a passenger were also rushed to Harlem Hospital, where they are expected to survive.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday morning, and the investigation remains ongoing. However, police are looking into the possibility that the vehicles involved could have been racing.
