One man is dead, and another is seriously injured after a fight outside of a Manhattan bar turned deadly early on Monday morning.
According to police sources, the attack unfolded outside of the Karamelo bar, located at 141 Nagle Ave. in Inwood, at around 12:42 a.m. on Aug. 10. Cops from the 34th Precinct say they received a 911 call reporting an assault in progress after a large gathering outside the night hangout spot turned into a brawl.
Upon arrival, cops say they found two 23-year-old men with stab wounds. One had been knifed in the abdomen, while the other suffered a puncture wound to the torso.
EMS rushed the man with the stab wound to the abdomen to Harlem Hospital, where he could not be saved and was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending proper family notification.
Meanwhile, police themselves rushed the other victim inside their own vehicle to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police did not immediately have a description of the perpetrators. The bar where the incident took place describes itself as “The best Latin cuisine, drinks, and ambiance in the Inwood area.”
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
