Shumaker Advisors is growing its Pinellas County-based practice, with the addition of Corey Recvlohe as Vice President in the firm’s St. Pete office, which opened in 2024.
Recvlohe comes to Shumaker after serving as a Legislative Aide in Rep. Adam Anderson’s office, where he worked with the lawmaker over four consecutive Legislative Sessions, including the most recent 2025 and 2026 Sessions, when Anderson served as Chair of the House Health Care Facilities and Systems Subcommittee.
The experience afforded Recvlohe the opportunity to gain extensive experience in the state legislative and budget process through every step, including through committee debate, negotiations, final passage and the Governor’s signature.
Recvlohe’s experience is expected to add to Shumaker’s ability to help clients advance their priorities, navigate the government process and address state policy issues affecting local communities and businesses.
“Our clients in Pinellas County need advisors who understand their priorities, prepare thoroughly, and know how local needs intersect with decisions in Tallahassee,” said Ron Christaldi, Shumaker Partner and President and CEO of Shumaker Advisors Florida. “Corey’s addition deepens our St. Petersburg presence and strengthens the team available to serve those clients. His Florida House experience and ability to translate complex issues into practical strategies bring meaningful value to our work throughout Pinellas County and across Florida.”
In addition to his work in the Legislature, Recvlohe has has experience working on political campaigns and on international relations.
At Shumaker, Recvlohe will focus on state legislative advocacy, appropriations and other agency representation. He’ll be working with cities, counties and constitutional offices to draw down state funding and to address infrastructure needs, disaster preparedness and state preemption matters.
Recvlohe will also support health care and life sciences organizations on issues related to genomic medicine, rare diseases, hospitals, health care facilities, medical care centers and other related regulatory issues. Additionally, he will advise clients on public sector procurement, forensic and investigative technology, public records and privacy issues surrounding state data programs.
“I am excited to join Shumaker Advisors in St. Petersburg and contribute to a proven team serving Pinellas County, Tampa Bay, and communities throughout Florida,” Recvlohe said. “Effective advocacy starts with understanding each client’s needs and building a clear strategy to address them. I look forward to helping our clients turn their priorities into effective policy and funding strategies.”
Recvlohe earned a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, where his research examined smart-city technology programs in Barcelona and Toronto, with a focus on data privacy, public procurement, and government use of surveillance technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Florida.
“Depth matters in government affairs because our clients’ challenges often involve several issues and multiple levels of government,” Christaldi said. “Corey brings substantive experience in appropriations, health care policy, local government, and technology. Adding that experience to our Florida team strengthens our ability to provide informed, coordinated counsel to clients in Pinellas County and throughout the state.”
Shumaker Advisors provides strategic government relations, public policy, appropriations, and advocacy services grounded in experience, relationships, and a clear understanding of government processes. Recvlohe’s addition is expected to enhance the firm’s continued investment in its Pinellas County presence and its capacity to serve businesses, local governments, health care organizations, technology companies, nonprofits, and community leaders across Tampa Bay and Florida.
Recvlohe will work alongside others in Shumaker’s St. Pete office, including former St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman, the firm’s Executive Vice President and Principal of the U.S. cities practice.
