The popular Italian eatery Olio e Più is expanding its reach in New York City.
Olio e Più first came to the Big Apple’s dining scene in 2010 in Greenwich Village. Created by The Group Hospitality, Olio e Più quickly became a neighborhood staple known for its blend of authentic Italian cuisine and warm, elevated atmosphere.
“When we opened Olio e Più in Greenwich Village in 2010, our goal was to create an authentic Italian gathering place rooted in warmth, community, and hospitality,” said Emil Stefkov, Founder of The Group Hospitality. “Inspired by the trattorias and enotecas of Italy, we wanted to bring not only classic Italian cuisine to New York, but also the feeling of an Italian family house in the countryside and the joy of sharing a meal together.”
Olio e Più offers a variety of Italian dishes that are rooted in capturing the essence of Italy while keeping them approachable and delicious. Each dish is made with high-quality ingredients and executed with traditional techniques, staying true to its roots.
Each Olio e Più location serves a selection of dishes that can be shared or enjoyed solo. Some menu highlights include starters like the Whipped Burrata Crostini, Arancini Tartufa, Grilled Octopus, and Tuna Tartare; fresh-made pastas such as the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Cavatelli Lamb Ragú, and the Ricotta Gnocchi al Pesto; and mains such as Branzino Estivo, Polpette della Nonna, and Ribeye alla Griglia.
For Stefkov, the goal of each Olio e Più location is to create a transformative experience for their customers.
“We focus on creating an experience that feels transportive, combining classic Italian dishes with warm hospitality and thoughtfully designed spaces. Each location reflects the character of its neighborhood while staying true to the welcoming atmosphere and authentic cuisine that define the brand,” said Stefkov. “Whether you’re joining us for a quick coffee, a long lunch, or a celebratory dinner, we want you to feel like a guest in an Italian home, where the table is always set, the conversation flows freely, and every meal is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.”
On May 13, the restaurant officially opened its third New York City location in the East Village, located at 106 3rd Ave. The 135-seat, two-floor space aims to reflect the warmth of the Italian countryside, with the bottom floor serving as an indoor/outdoor space in the warmer months.
Stefkov says that the move to the East Village just made sense considering what Olio e Più has built over the years.
“The East Village felt like a natural fit for Olio e Più because of its energy, strong sense of community, and vibrant dining scene,” said Stefkov. “We also fell in love with the space itself, which offered the opportunity to create a lively indoor-outdoor feel with two floors, a patio, and open-air windows.”
So far, the new East Village outpost has been a hit in the neighborhood, with Stefkov telling amNewYork that he is grateful for the love that the East Village has shown.

“We’ve been thrilled by the response from the neighborhood and grateful for how warmly the community has embraced us,” said Stefkov. “Building lasting relationships has always been one of our priorities, so it’s been especially rewarding to see both longtime Olio e Più guests and new local neighbors make the restaurant part of their regular routine.”
In addition to the three NYC Olio e Più locations (the other NYC location is in Bryant Park), the brand has two more locations in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Stevkov says that as Olio e Più continues to grow, they will scout out locations that “feel authentic to the concept” while remaining true to their mission: authentic cuisine, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.
In the meantime, New Yorkers can look forward to summer at Olio e Più, which Stefkov says is the restaurant’s favorite season, which will include seasonal dishes and unique experiences tailored to the East Village location.
“We’re especially excited to welcome guests to enjoy long summer lunches, aperitivo hours, and memorable evenings that celebrate the simple pleasures of life,” said Stefkov. “We’re also excited to continue creating experiences that bring the neighborhood together and celebrate the World Cup with a dedicated viewing setup in the first floor bar area and a globally-inspired cocktail list curated specifically for the event.”
