Coinciding with a high energy Pride Weekend happening throughout the central city, the Midtown Association is excited to present a series of special Midtown Second Saturday activations on June 13. A signature monthly activation for the Midtown Association, Sutter Health’s Midtown Second Saturday includes a full-sensory celebration of Midtown’s creative spirit district-wide where creativity takes over the streets and the energy carries into the night. A few highlights for June 13 include the final activation of Kaiser Permanente’s Fremont Park Bloom complete with a Stylistics Car Show, a lively Silent Discoby H.E.R.E., and the debut of an all-new Midtown Mural Trail. Sutter Health’s Midtown Second Saturday is presented by the Midtown Association, Five Star Bank, City of Sacramento and supported by radio partners MIX96, New Country 1051 KNCI, Now 100.5 FM, and Sactown Sports 1140AM.
Expected to draw nearly 9K visitors to Midtown each month, Midtown Second Saturday programming starts early in the day at the Midtown Farmers Market and continues well into the evening. The monthly activations are designed to celebrate Midtown’s thriving arts and culture scene along with the individuals who bring it to life. Attendees can enjoy an all-day/evening celebration of local artists and artistry, entertaining music, dance and theatre performances, culinary artistry in action, and food and drink specials at popular Midtown bars and restaurants.

Midtown Second Saturday Highlights for June 13
- Mornings at the Market – the crowd-favorite Midtown Farmers Market is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with SMUD helping to shine a light on the special day by offering fun and free giveaways (while supplies last) plus live music performed by singer/songwriter Mayita Pachecofrom 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Market Square (20th & K Streets).
- Kaiser Permanente’s Fremont Park Bloom (all day/evening) – Midtown Second Saturday is the last chance for the community to experience the vibrant outdoor art installation — showcased by thirty 6 to 9-foot tall colorful and vibrant sculptures inspired by the California poppy that illuminate beautifully each evening. As a finale to the pop-up Fremont Park Bloom art activation, Midtown Second Saturday attendees can also enjoy a Car Show by Stylistics (4-8 p.m.), a Silent Disco by H.E.R.E (5-8 p.m.), plus wine sampling from Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op (4-8 p.m.), along with food trucks and live music. Free to experience and located in Fremont Park (1515 Q Street), Kaiser Permanente’s Fremont Park Bloom is presented by Midtown Parks and CADA, and supported by Brown Construction, LBT Investments, and the City of Sacramento.
- Midtown Mural Trail (New!) – Discover a new way to experience the art, culture, and creativity found around every corner with the new Midtown Mural Trail that invites guests to explore a curated collection of murals. Using a free digital pass, wanderlust explorers can check in at featured murals throughout the dynamic district, unlocking an interactive experience that awards points that can be redeemed for raffle entries on a number of amazing prizes. Along the way, wanderers will hear directly from participating artists through exclusive audio recordings that provide insight into the inspiration, meaning, and process behind their work. Plus, new murals and artist stories will be added each month through the Midtown Second Saturday season that ends in “Artober.”

- I Street Art Studios (1727 Art Studios) – “When Art Tells a Story” with public reception from including storytelling and music from 2-8 p.m.
- Prism Art Space (2120 K Street) — ‘you are my other me’ exhibition that celebrates members of the f/stop photography collective, founded in Sacramento. It is the culmination of a year-long discourse centered on alternative process, and cultivating belonging for the queer photo community, from 5 to 8 p.m.
