QUEENS, NY — The Mets are finally getting a shred of good news amidst their worst stretch in two decades, as star left fielder Juan Soto will be activated from the injured list and rejoin the lineup on Wednesday.

MLB.com was first to report on Soto’s impending return.

The 27-year-old superstar has been sidelined with a strained calf since April 3, injuring it while running the bases in San Francisco against the Giants.

In his absence, the Mets have been a shell of themselves and by far the worst unit in baseball. During their 11-game losing streak that they carried into Tuesday night’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins at Citi Field, New York scored just 19 runs — a paltry average of 1.7 runs per game.

Soto had been off to a red-hot start this season, collecting hits in each of his first eight games and batting .355 with a .928 OPS, one home run, and five RBI.

This is an updating story.
