Police say the man accused of stabbing two people, leaving one of the victim’s dead, inside a Hell’s Kitchen apartment on Wednesday afternoon has been charged with murder.
According to police sources, 31-year-old Carlos Andres Delgadolopez is allegedly responsible for going on a stabbing spree inside 440 West 47th St. at around 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 9.
Sources say a woman, who had only been living at the apartment for several weeks, got into a verbal dispute with Delgadolopez when he brandished a sharp object.
He then allegedly attacked her, stabbing her in the back and neck. He then repeatedly turned his attention to a 26-year-old man and stabbed him in the torso.
According to a report by ABC7, a witness saw a man covered in blood.
“I saw some dude on the stoop in all white but like white as a ghost covered in blood head to toe,” Steve Hines told the outlet.
Both victims were rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside, where the male victim was pronounced dead. He has been identified as John Carlos Mesa. The female victim was listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Delgadolopez was taken into custody before being charged on Thursday. He is facing both Murder and Attempted Murder charges.
His arraignment was pending as of Thursday afternoon.
