Hires

Aledade, a national network of independent primary care practices, welcomed Oraida Roman as its new chief commercial officer. She joined the company from Humana, where she spent about 25 years in various leadership roles.

Biopharma company Ardelyx named Rajani Dinavahi as its new chief medical officer. She is a nephrologist by training and has worked in leadership roles at Amgen and Atara Biotherapeutics in the past.

Hayley Park joined Blue Shield of California as chief pharmacy officer. In the past, Park has held leadership roles at Walgreens and Kaiser Permanente.

Employer health benefit plan administration platform Collective Health appointed Kaushik Bhaumik as its new chief revenue officer. In the past, he has worked in leadership positions at companies including EY and Cognizant.

Humana named Bobby Mukundan as its new chief technology officer. Before joining the company, he served in tech executive roles at CVS Health, Accenture, JPMorgan Chase and Citi.

Medical device company ImpediMed welcomed Erik Anderson as its new CEO. He joins the organization from Hologic, where he served as president of its breast and skeletal health division.

Virtual behavioral health company Iris Telehealth appointed Donna Robinson as its chief growth officer. In the past, she has held leadership roles at companies including Instem, TeleVox Healthcare and Change Healthcare.

Venkat Kavarthapu joined healthcare software company symplr as its new CEO. He is the former CEO of interoperability software startup Edifecs, which was acquired by Cotiviti last year.

Medical device giant Zimmer Biomet named Jonathan Vigdorchik as its chief science, technology and medical affairs officer. In the past, he has worked as an orthopedic surgeon at NYU Langone Health and Hospital for Special Surgery

Promotions

New Jersey health system ChristianaCare announced that Jenn Schwartz, its chief strategy officer, will take over as CEO following the retirement of current CEO Janice Nevin on September 1. Schwartz joined the health system in 2018 as chief legal officer.

Layoffs

Baylor Scott & White Health Plan is exiting the Texas Medicaid market, as well as winding down its marketplace insurance plans. These market exits will result in the elimination of 321 positions.

Novo Nordisk is eliminating about 400 positions at its manufacturing site in Bloomington, Indiana. The layoffs are part of a broader restructuring as the drugmaker responds to slowing growth in its GLP-1 drug unit in the face of increasing price pressure and competition.

Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Mississippi is laying off 86 workers, which constitutes about 17% of its workforce. These job cuts, along with the elimination of several service lines, are decisions that come amid preparation for a potential acquisition or closure.

Midwest-based UnityPoint Health said it is eliminating 207 IT roles across its health system. The organization said this is part of a larger effort to reduce administrative costs by consolidating technology functions and moving toward more centralized and outsourced IT support models.
