A lot can change in one week, especially for the New York Giants. Jaxson Dart has been ruled out for the rest of the season and will require knee surgery on his damaged MCL, PCL, and meniscus.

Dart suffered the injury during the first drive of Monday Night Football against the Rams. Another key injury happened during the game as Brian Burns went down with a sprained ankle. The Giants would go on to lose to LA 28-6.

New York (1-1) will host the Tennessee Titans (0-2) at MetLife Stadium in Week 3.

Jameis Winston will serve as the team’s quarterback for the foreseeable future. In the loss against the Rams, Winston was 11 of 27, threw for 111 yards, and threw one interception.

“It’s tough to come in,” Harbaugh said about Winston. “He operated really well; he was on point with all the things in terms of running the offense and all that.”

He started two games last season and went 0-2 even though the games were very winnable. Winston will have more prep time and better execution for a better performance.

Malik Nabers injured his shoulder in the first half against the Rams and returned to the field a few plays later. Nabers in two games with the Giants this season recorded seven receptions for 70 yards. It might take a while for Nabers to regain his rookie season stardom since his ACL and meniscus tear he suffered last season. During this stretch, the Giants need their star receiver.

Cam Skattebo had a rough time against the Rams as he had 12 carries for 36 yards and four receptions for 19 yards. Skattebo will be a major factor in this matchup as Tennessee’s rush defense ranks 21st in the NFL. They allow 120.5 rushing yards per game.

It won’t be an easy task as the Titans suffered a crushing defeat against the Eagles in the final seconds of the game. Cam Ward had a good Week 2 outing as he threw for 183 yards and scrambled to the end zone for the two touchdowns. Ward looks to exploit the Giants’ passing defense as they rank No. 25 in passing defense.

Tennessee’s run game hasn’t been effective in the first two games and looks to ramp it up against the Giants.

New York’s new style of play has been very physical under head coach John Harbaugh. Even though Dart went down with an injury, devastation is across New York City with the news. The Giants will be at home with better execution and the motivation to win for their injured quarterback.
