The Midtown Farmers Market offers plenty of spirited ways to celebrate in July with special activations, a variety of upbeat live and DJ music, a free World Cup jersey giveaway, and more. With an incredible and edible bounty of fresh fruits, vegetables and foods available from local growers and producers, plus a diverse variety of artisan crafted goods, July is a wonderful time to get out and about to connect with the community at the Midtown Farmers Market.

Voted as the #1 Best Farmers Market in California (and #3 in the U.S.), the Midtown Farmers Market is proudly sponsored by Sutter Health.  The open-air market first debuted in 2013 and is available on Saturdays year-round – rain or shine – with spring/summer hours now in effect from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The thriving, ever-growing and evolving Midtown Farmers Market spans six blocks. 

The Midtown Farmers Market offers a variety of special activations and entertaining music in July presented by SMUD and taking place in Market Square located at 20th & K Streets (unless specified otherwise).

Saturday, July 4

  • 8 a.m. to noon – Festive, fun, and FREE streamer children’s craft activity (while supplies last)
  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park will be on-site providing hands-on activities plus promoting the FREE California State Parks Historian Passport coinciding with America’s 250th Anniversary (available for download through July 6)
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Live music performed by singer/guitarist Chad Copher

Saturday, July 11 – Midtown Second Saturday  

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Entertaining music by A King’s Dream performing jazzy classics with a bass guitar and saxophone 

Saturday, July 18

  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – To celebrate the final weekend of the World Cup action, Market attendees can enter for a chance to win a free World Cup jersey at the Buenos Aires Grill food truck on 20th Street; no purchase necessary
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Entertaining music performed by singer/songwriter John Alan Connerley

Saturday, July 25

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Entertaining live music performed by the acoustic duo Flynn Martin

To make it as easy as possible to navigate, the sprawling Midtown Farmers Market is identified by themed areas such as Artisan Alley presented by Kinect @ Southport, Boutique Boulevard, Market Square, Merchant Market, Producers Plaza, Savory Street, the Street Food Sacramento block, and Culinary Corridor.

Owned and managed by the Midtown Association, the Midtown Farmers Market continues to reflect the thriving and eclectic tastes of the surrounding neighborhood. In addition to title sponsor Sutter Health and presenting sponsor SMUD, ongoing support is also provided by community partners that include Heller Pacific and Fulcrum Properties, Golden 1, Republic Services, as well as the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, the Market’s Mobility Sponsor.
