Detectives are investigating after four people were shot, including several teens, in Harlem during the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded at approximately 1:18 a.m. on 143 Street and Lenox Avenue. Cops say a large group was hanging out around the basketball court when gunfire erupted.
While cops say they are still investigating who and why the shots were fired, at least four people were stuck by the bullets. When officers from the 32nd Precinct arrived, they discovered a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the left foot, a 17-year-old boy who was also struck in the left foot, a 20-year-old man who was shot in the groin, and a 21-year-old man who was hit in the right leg.
All four victims were rushed to Harlem Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition and are expected to survive.
Police are still investigating how many shooters were involved and do not currently have a description of the suspects.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
