Knicks fans: Want to go hang out with Timothée Chalamet and Spike Lee at Game 3 of the NBA Finals? You can if you’re the highest bidder.
Madison Square Garden Sports and the New York Knicks put two celebrity front row seats up for auction for Monday’s game in the championship series between the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” The auction went live on Thursday and ends Sunday, with the highest bid for the June 8 game being $500,000.
The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with the MSG Family of Companies to positively impact the lives of children facing obstacles. The foundation works with 30 partner organizations throughout the tri-state area, including hospitals, wish organizations, and community-based organizations, to reach children who are facing challenges such as homelessness, extreme poverty, illness, and foster care.
Since 2006, the Garden of Dreams Foundation has impacted the lives of over 480,000 young people facing obstacles.
“The Garden of Dreams Foundation is the most important work that we do at the Madison Square Garden Family of Companies, and we are proud that this foundation has made a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of youth across the tri-state area,” MSG Sports CEO James Dolan said. “Offering Celebrity Row seats for the NBA Finals at The Garden presents an unforgettable opportunity for fans, while supporting an organization that truly changes lives for the better.”
The fundraiser comes after last week’s announcement that the Knicks will donate hundreds of free tickets to underprivileged youth throughout New York City for the NBA Finals. Garden of Dreams Foundation youth are receiving 250 tickets per home game, totaling at least 500 tickets across games 3 and 4 at Madison Square Garden.
The total can reach 750 tickets if there is a Game 6, scheduled for June 16.
Ticket prices for the Knicks’ home games in the NBA Finals are astronomical; The Athletic reported that seats in the uppermost portions of the Garden are starting at more than $7,000 a pop.
President Donald Trump, meanwhile, has accepted an invitation to Game 3 at the Garden, prompting a mixed reaction from some. Mayor Zohran Mamdani is also expected to attend, but reports indicate he will not be sitting with the president.
