Tucked at 52 West 33rd Street, The Bronze Owl feels like the kind of cocktail den one imagines finding in a better, more flirtatious version of Midtown. There is a wink of ’90s nightlife nostalgia, a little Sex and the City gloss, and enough low-lit confidence to make a casual drink feel like the beginning of a very good story. Think emerald leather booths, bronze accents, romantic shadows, boozy snow cones, and caviar. Need one really say more?
Inside, the mood is grown-up without being dull. It is polished without becoming precious. It has the kind of retro glamour made for adults who still feel deliciously young at heart, particularly those who believe summer should be taken with a cocktail in hand and something salty, decadent, and slightly excessive on the table. The Bronze Owl is built for a cozy night out, a chic pre-game, a date with good lighting, or a girls’ night that begins responsibly and ends with everyone ordering another round.
With this in mind, the new summer menu arrives at exactly the right moment. The city is hot. Patience is low. Everyone wants something cold, playful, and strong enough to make the evening behave a little better. The Bronze Owl answers with a lineup of Italian ice cocktails, each made to order using a hand-cranked ice shaver. The effect is nostalgic, theatrical, and deeply charming.
The Blue Lagoon blends Coconut Rum, Pineapple Rum, Blue Curaçao, Orgeat, Lime, and Pineapple Juice into a bright, tropical little fantasy. Sunrise in Tulum brings Gin, Hibiscus, Grand Marnier, Simple Syrup, and Lemon into something floral, citrusy, and flirtatious. Neon Slush, with Vodka, Midori, Green Chartreuse, Honey, and Lime, has the electric confidence of a night that has already decided to go off-script. Each summer cocktail is priced at $22, which feels fair for the privilege of drinking something that looks like childhood and behaves like adulthood.
Perhaps the most irresistible addition is the Campfire Espresso Martini. Made with Mezcal, Espresso, Cacao, Peligroso, Evil Bean, Demerara, and Toasted Marshmallow, it brings smoke, caffeine, sweetness, and trouble into the same glass. It is the sort of drink one orders when dessert feels too innocent and sleep feels unlikely.
Chef Franklin Becker has also expanded the food program with dishes that understand the assignment. These are not shy little bar snacks waiting quietly beside the cocktails. They are glossy, playful, craveable indulgences that make the room feel even more fun. The Potato Knishes, topped with Antonius Sturgeon Caviar and crème fraîche, are the obvious star. At $42, they offer a perfect high-low thrill: deli nostalgia dressed for a night out.
The French Onion Crème Fraîche & Caviar, served with house-made chips, is another strong move. It is salty, silky, and wonderfully unserious in the best possible way. Caviar does not need to wait for anniversaries, inherited silver, or someone else’s yacht. It belongs on a summer weeknight, under flattering light, beside a cocktail cold enough to fog the glass.
There are also Pigs in the Blanket with everything spice and Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard, Deviled Egg Toast with radish, avocado, cilantro, and jalapeño, and a Lobster Roll with celery, chives, mayo, and a buttered roll. The Sweet Graffiti Whoopie Pie, a chocolate cake sandwich with marshmallow filling from the venue’s sister dessert concept, finishes things with a proper wink. Returning favorites include Shrimp Tempura, Meatballs in Marinara, Margherita and Pepperoni Pizzas, sliders, and other generous bar staples.

The launch comes from the partnership between Chef Becker’s Hospitality Department Group and Richie Romero’s hospitality incubator NexHos. Romero, along with partners Derek Gibbons and Emma Gladu, continues to help shape the guest experience from top to bottom. That kind of attention matters. A room can be attractive and still feel empty in spirit. The Bronze Owl, conversely, has personality.
That is what makes the spot work. It knows how to be stylish without getting stiff, nostalgic without becoming gimmicky, and indulgent without trying too hard. It offers exactly the kind of adult summer escape the city needs right now: cool drinks, good food, soft lighting, caviar ambition, and just enough mischief to make Midtown feel briefly glamorous.
Summer is thirsty business. The Bronze Owl has ice, caviar, cocktails, and enough retro charm to make the night feel young again.
