All Elite Wrestling (AEW) rocked Queens on Sunday night so hard that one of the matches even triggered a Citizen app notification for thousands of users.

AEW Double or Nothing took over Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing on May 24. The stacked card featured everything from title bouts to hardcore matches, sending fans into a frenzy. However, one contest went even further, spilling beyond the bounds of the arena itself.

Stadium Stampede pitted seven wrestlers against seven others in a no-holds-barred battle that saw competitors brawl through the aisles and in front of merchandise stands.

Fans chased the wrestlers throughout the arena as chaos erupted around them.

“They went that way!” one fan yelled, prompting a stampede of spectators rushing around the rafters with phones in hand.

Meanwhile, an incredible stunt featured wrestler Jungle Jack Perry aboard a bus that rammed into a golf cart, narrowly missing Mark Davis outside the arena. The crash looked so realistic that it triggered a Citizen app notification for thousands of users.

“Report of Bus and Golf Cart Collision,” the notification read.

“LMAOOOOOOO NOT AEW MAKING IT ONTO CITIZEN,” one user wrote online.

“Citizen is All Elite,” another posted.

AEW CEO Tony Khan spoke to amNewYork about the incident during a press conference immediately following the pay-per-view event.

“I believe that Jack is the first person to get the cops called on him for crashing a car in wrestling since Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert rolled over a car in Memphis in 1990, so I thought that was pretty cool,” Khan said. “To your point, yes, I did know that, and I thought it was pretty cool because that’s the last time I can remember somebody ratting a wrestler out. I’m not sure if they called the cops on Jack or not, but I thought that was pretty cool.”

In addition to the carnage of Stadium Stampede, MJF battled Darby Allin for the AEW Championship in what Allin had told amNewYork just days earlier would be the biggest match of his career.

The pair left everything in the ring, repeatedly attempting to pin one another in a brutal showdown.

The match concluded with Allin climbing scaffolding and performing a high-flying Coffin Drop onto MJF. However, while the move injured both competitors, it was not enough to secure the victory. MJF ultimately scored the pinfall and snatched the championship belt.

Will Ospreay also had a momentous night, defeating the legendary Samoa Joe and advancing in the Owen Hart Cup tournament, which could potentially lead to a main-event match at Wembley Stadium.

For Ospreay, a proud British wrestler, this possibility would mean accomplishing a childhood dream.

“I can’t tell you how much it would mean to me to be in the main event and fight for a championship that I hold in such high regard,” Ospreay said. “This is what dreams are made of, and it’s something I hope every English kid who’s ever had a dream can relate to.”

“I’m there, I’m nearly there. I can’t wait. I just want to get through these matches. Nothing is stopping me. Nothing is going to stop me from getting into that ring,” he added.
