The INVEST Digital Health conference, scheduled for October 29 at Pegasus Park in Dallas calls attention to how consumer-centered care is shaping interactions between payers and their members and providers and their patients. It will also explore the rise of direct-to-consumer diagnostics, and consumer drug platforms, among other topics. The Innovation Showcase will be open throughout the conference and will display innovative technologies across health tech, medtech and biotech.

The conference will also cast a spotlight on healthcare innovation in Texas, with tours of the 26-acre mixed-use Pegasus Park campus. Healthcare accelerator and Pegasus Park resident Health Wildcatters is a collaboration partner for the conference. Key facilities on the campus include BioLabs, a state-of-the-art incubator lab and office space for emerging life sciences startups, and Bridge Labs, a purpose-built, institutional-quality life sciences building providing flexible lab and office spaces. Tours of these facilities will be offered to interested attendees. The conference will culminate in a reception at Health Wildcatters’ headquarters.

The health tech and medtech companies taking part in the Innovation Showcase at INVEST Digital Health offer an impressive array of technologies, such as a medical device designed to objectively assess pain, a diagnostics business to support women’s health, and imaging technology to support pediatric care.

Companies in the showcase include:

AlgometRx is developing a device designed to provide an objective, quantitative assessment of pain-related physiology. The technology addresses a persistent limitation in both clinical care and research: the heavy reliance on subjective pain reporting and indirect proxy measures that are often unreliable, and lack sensitivity and clinical specificity. By capturing objective signals associated with pain processing, the company’s Nociometer is designed to enable a quantitative assessment across clinical settings.

AusculTech Dx develops AI-powered, portable diagnostic tools that seek to bring expert-quality screening to the front line of pediatric care. The company describes its flagship product, StrepApp, as an AI throat-imaging application designed to rule out strep pharyngitis using smartphone images and symptom data. StrepApp transforms a smartphone into an accessible point-of-care diagnostic tool. StrepApp has been the subject of clinical studies at multiple pediatric sites with an FDA regulatory pathway in mind. The mission of the diagnostic business is to reduce unnecessary referrals and testing, identify treatable conditions earlier, and extend high-quality diagnostic capabilities to clinics, schools, and homes that have traditionally lacked access to specialty care.

Glaucus offers a multiplexed medical diagnostics device that combines standard field effect transistors with targeted bio-receptors.

Insilicom is a biomedical AI and bioinformatics company developing knowledge and reasoning technologies for drug discovery, precision medicine, pharmacovigilance, and scientific evidence analysis. Its core platform, IKraph, integrates information from tens of millions of biomedical publications and numerous public databases into a large-scale biomedical knowledge graph, enabling AI-driven discovery while maintaining evidence provenance and interpretability.

The company’s products and services include AI-powered drug repurposing and target discovery, personalized treatment and nutrition recommendations using genomic and multi-omics data, pharmacovigilance and more. Insilicon works with pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and government agencies to turn complex biomedical data and literature into actionable, evidence-supported insights.

NIRSense offers wireless ruggedized physiology sensors for austere conditions. One application for Its technology is to prevent hemorrhage-related deaths and cognitive impairment in fighter pilots in high-altitude and high g-force conditions, according to its website.

Nura Health is a diagnostics company building a multi-modal precision test platform to non-invasively diagnose endometriosis in blood. It seeks to fast-track personalized management by fusing together disease-specific multi-omic biomarkers, individualized pharmacogenomics, and digitally collected symptom data, enabling a rapid diagnosis and accelerated management for a disease that has an average 7-10 year delay in diagnosis.

Sibel Health, a Northwestern University spinout, developed a wireless, wearable continuous monitoring platform ANNE One. The soft, flexible chest and limb sensors capture clinical-grade vital signs, including heart rate/ECG, respiratory rate, oxygen, temperature, and body position. The data streams to mobile and desktop dashboards, including alarms for critical issues. Most hospital beds are not monitored continuously, and patient deterioration outside the ICU often goes unrecognized until it is too late. ANNE One is designed to give care teams earlier visibility into changes in patient status without tethering patients to wires. It is designed to support mobility, patient comfort, and nursing workflow. The platform is FDA-cleared across populations from neonates to adults and is deployed in U.S. and international health systems.

VoiceLove offers an adaptive communication platform for individuals with cognitive disabilities focusing on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and people living with dementia to provide them as well as their families, caregivers, and therapists with the next best action through adaptive coaching and multimodal learning analytics.
