The sports and entertainment sensation Savannah Bananas are among those lined up for musical performances during Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Members of the Savannah Bananas, including Ty Jackson, Danny Hosley, Bill LeRoy, DR Meadows, Kyle Luigs and Derek Klena, along with host Biko Skalla, will be bringing an action-packed show to the stadium alongside some of tennis’ biggest stars from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In addition to musical numbers, the Savannah Bananas will also be performing on-court games and challenges. The team will then host a meet-and-greet with fans after their show.

Other performers announced by the USTA for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the Fountain Plaza Stage include 14-year-old singer-songwriter Iris Copperman, R&B singer/dancer and Usher protégé JayDon, boyband JYT, 16-year-old pop-country singer Maddox Batson and R&B-infused, urban electro-pop sister group SIMIEN. Actress and creator Txunamy will be co-hosting the event, which runs through 3:30 p.m. DJ Sophia Rocks will be providing musical entertainment at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day throughout the afternoon.
Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, which is the largest annual grassroots tennis event and a premier celebration of the legacy of the late legendary tennis player Arthur Ashe, represents the beginning of US Open Fan Week, which runs through Saturday, Aug. 29. The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center comes alive each year on Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, with fans having the opportunity to watch the top tennis players in practice sessions throughout the main stadium, while kids can join them in the action with lessons, drills and competitions from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Other available activities for kids at the event include face-painting, temporary tattoos, storytelling, hair-braiding, balloon artists and roving entertainers. There is also a specially-priced $10 kids meal.
Honoring Arthur Ashe’s legacy of humanitarianism, leadership and academic excellence, Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day seeks to inspire the next generation of tennis players.
Other highlights of US Open Fan Week include the US Open Qualifying Tournament, which is free to attend, the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, marquee exhibitions and Stars of the Open.
