Detectives are investigating a double stabbing in Hell’s Kitchen early on Thursday morning that left two men wounded.
According to police sources, officers from the Midtown North Precinct rushed to the corner of West 46th Street and 8th Avenue just before 1:50 a.m. on July 23 after a report of an assault.
When they arrived, authorities said, the officers found a 28-year-old man with two stab wounds to the back and a 31-year-old man with a single stab wound to his back.
Sources close to the investigation said the victims are believed to have been backstabbed as a result of a verbal dispute with two male suspects who fled the scene after the violence.
One of the suspects was described as a man sporting dreadlocks and wearing a white tank top. The second man wore a white shirt and blue jeans. They fled on foot westbound along West 46th Street.
EMS rushed both victims to Bellevue Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
It was the second violent stabbing in the Midtown North Precinct in as many days. On Wednesday morning, three people were injured in a knife attack near Times Square. A 24-year-old man was taken into custody in that incident.
As for Thursday’s assault, no arrests have yet been made in the ongoing investigation.
