Brazil’s national soccer team has officially selected Red Bull New York’s brand-new training facility as its home base for the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer. AmNewYork first reported on this impending decision in January.
Located in Morris Township, NJ, and called the Columbia Park Training Facility during the tournament, it opened in March and features eight full-size outdoor soccer fields, fully equipped gyms, a dining hall, and advanced technology, including multi-angle camera tracking systems and a comprehensive medical suite and innovation lab.
“We are very pleased with this decision,” Brazil’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti said. “The training center is new, modern, and offers all the conditions for our work before and during the World Cup. I want to thank [Red Bull New York] for welcoming us and showing us all the space.”
Brazil is the most successful national team at the World Cup, having won five championships since the tournament’s inception in 1930. Placed in Group C, the No. 6-ranked team on the planet will kick off the 2026 edition at MetLife Stadium on June 13 in a headlining clash against 2022 World Cup semifinalists Morocco. Brazil then faces Haiti in Philadelphia and Scotland in Miami.
On Monday, Ancelotti announced his 26-player squad, which will come to the United States this summer in hopes of lifting the trophy for the first time since 2002. Among his most notable decisions was the inclusion of the country’s all-time leading goal scorer, Neymar, after he was excluded back in March. The 34-year-old, who once played for the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, has not been the same since tearing his ACL in 2023.
“Neymar will be an important player for us at the World Cup,” Ancelotti told reporters. “We spent the entire year analyzing Neymar. We realized that in this last period, he had continuity and was in good physical condition.”
