According to law enforcement sources, the incident unfolded at around 9:45 a.m on 90th Street and Madison Avenue. The jeweler was closed at the time of the collision, with its metal barriers down; however, the store’s doors were left bent inward, with glass strewn across the street.

EMS whisked the driver to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition and expected to recover. No pedestrians or workers at the jewelry store were injured.

Police were seen investigating and sectioning off the crash site from the public.

The investigation remains ongoing, but it is not being considered criminal in nature at this time.
