And we’re back! Our weekly seasonal newsletter, Summer & THE CITY, is returning for another year of splashing in the surf, soaking up the sun, seeing something new and surviving the dog days.

Our newsroom’s resident Summer Enjoyers, Katie Honan and Haidee Chu, will tell you the stories of the New Yorkers who make summer happen, explore the weird and wild places that appear when the days are long, deliver free and local-cost things to do each week, serve up a weekend beach forecast and a lot more.

They’ll investigate questions like: How, exactly, does the city ensure the water is clean on the city’s shoreline? Where is the best spot to kayak in New York? Are we going to get more wildfire smoke? Are the lobster rolls worth the trek to City Island? And how are we all going to survive the World Cup?

The first free dispatch will land in inboxes on Thursday, May 21, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend and will arrive every week on Thursday afternoons through Labor Day.

Sign up here so you don’t miss a thing!

Our nonprofit newsroom relies on donations from readers to sustain our local reporting and keep it free for all New Yorkers. Donate to THE CITY today.
