Manhattan detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found fatally shot on Randall’s Island on Monday afternoon.
According to police sources, cops received a 911 call reporting that an individual was found lying unresponsive under a bridge near the corner of Hell Gate Circle and East River Lane around 12:35 p.m. on July 13.
When officers from the 25th Precinct arrived on the scene, they discovered a 24-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to his forehead.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity is pending proper family notification.

The man was discovered a short distance from the Clark Thomas Men’s Shelter; sources familiar with the case say that police are investigating whether the man was homeless and residing there. Sources also say he had a cellphone on him but no ID.
Detectives are also investigating whether the time is tied to any sex work activity, as sex workers are known to frequent the area where the man’s body had been found.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
