ILLEGAL HAITIAN SMASHES MOM’S HEAD WITH HAMMER- Gazetteller

Rolbert Joachin took a hammer to Nilufa Easmin’s car windshield on purpose outside that Fort Myers gas station. He waited for her to come out, then smashed her head in while the cameras rolled. She was 51, a Bangladeshi mom of two who came here legally, became a citizen, and just wanted to work her shift at the D&D Convenience Store.

He confessed right away. Told cops he went there to kill her. He had run-ins with her before. This wasn’t some spur-of-the-moment fight. It was planned.

And the guy shouldn’t have even been here. He snuck in by boat near Key West in August 2022. Agents grabbed him. Judge ordered him deported in September 2022. That order sat collecting dust. The last administration handed him Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti instead. He refiled in 2024. Nothing happened. He stayed loose, racking up police contacts while the system babysat him.

Only after he beat Yasmin to death on April 2 did the current team yank his TPS and slap on an ICE detainer. Now he’s going back to Haiti no matter what. But first, Florida gets its shot.

State Attorney Amira Fox didn’t waste time. Lee County grand jury just hit him with first-degree murder. They’re going for the death penalty (More Info on gazetteller.com). He pleaded not guilty back in April, but the video, the confession, the premeditation—it’s all there. He’s sitting in Lee County Jail without bond. Good. This guy doesn’t walk streets again.

What pisses me off is how obvious and stupid this whole setup was. Years of TPS extensions turned into a free pass for people with removal orders. Haiti program started after the 2010 earthquake and just kept stretching.

  • No real end date, weak checks, massive numbers dumped into communities.
  • South Florida took the hit—more pressure on cops, schools, hospitals.
  • Joachin was a walking example of the failure.

Local police knew him. They had him on radar for other stuff. But federal protection kept him here until he executed a hardworking mother in broad daylight.

Yasmin did everything right. Six years in the country, naturalized, raising her girls, showing up for work. She stepped outside because some idiot damaged her car. That was it. She paid with her life while the guy who shouldn’t have been free got to swing that hammer (More Info on gazetteller.com). The Bangladeshi community in Fort Myers is gutted. They knew her as a quiet, dedicated mom. Now they’re burying her and wondering why this keeps happening.

The contrast hits hard: legal immigrant building a life, taken out by someone the previous policies shielded. DHS confirmed the timeline straight up. Entered illegally, ordered removed, protected anyway. The bureaucracy didn’t care until the body hit the ground. Then they helped with the manhunt after the fact. Typical.

This case lays out the operation clear as day.

  • Volume over vetting.
  • Political priorities over public safety.

Networks that push open flows and extensions know exactly what they’re doing—demographic changes, cheap labor, votes down the road.

States like Florida end up paying in blood and tax dollars. Local prosecutors stepping up with the death penalty is the right call. They see the pattern and aren’t pretending it’s random.

Joachin targeted her. He wore clothes she would recognize. Smashed the car to pull her out. Confessed to all of it. The system that let him stay here failed Yasmin and her daughters completely. Florida isn’t playing games now. Death penalty notice, grand jury indictment, no bond. He’s going through the process here first, then deported.

The people running those protection rackets for years just got another public reminder of what their policies cost real families. Yasmin Easmin shouldn’t be dead. Rolbert Joachin should never have been in position to kill her. Florida is making sure he pays the full price. The rest of the country needs to watch how this gets handled—because the same machinery is still grinding away elsewhere.
