MSG Networks and YES Network are pulling the plug on the Gotham Sports app, their joint streaming venture, after an unsuccessful two-year experiment that had fans scrambling to stream Yankees, Knicks, and Rangers games, among others.
The networks announced on Wednesday that they have inked a deal with DAZN, making the service their exclusive streaming partner for the 2026-27 NBA and NHL seasons.
Along with the Yankees, Knicks, and Rangers, MSG and YES also broadcast Islanders, Devils, Sabres, and Nets games.
“Our new strategic partnership with DAZN reflects the YES Network’s continued commitment to elevate the streaming experience for our direct-to-consumer subscribers and TV everywhere users,” YES Network president and CEO Jon Litner said. “DAZN offers a world-class technology platform and elite, live sports streaming expertise, and we look forward to working with them and MSG Networks to continue to serve Yankees and Nets fans, as well as fans of the teams carried by MSG, with the most compelling sports content in the country.”
It is a significant acquisition for DAZN, which mostly shows combat sports and soccer in the United States. Outside of the US, they stream NFL Game Pass, NHL.tv, the NBA, and college football.
