Odell Beckham Jr. is officially returning to where it all began. The Giants have brought back their former superstar wide receiver after seven years away, though his role with the team will be very different.

The 33-year-old has not appeared in an NFL game since the 2024 season after he was suspended for the first six games of 2025 for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, then went unsigned for the remainder of the campaign.

But new Giants head coach John Harbaugh has a pre-existing relationship with Beckham. The two worked together with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, where Beckham was the team’s second-leading receiver.

Harbaugh continuously teased the possibility of bringing the receiver back to the franchise that drafted him No. 12 overall in 2014. He visited team facilities last month and underwent a physical, but the Giants did their due diligence before ultimately completing the deal.

Beckham was on track to become the greatest receiver in Giants history, posting three straight seasons of at least 1,300 yards. Injuries and off-field concerns, however, ultimately derailed his career in New York, and he was traded to the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2019 season.

Looking ahead to his second stint with Big Blue, Beckham will be relied on as a veteran presence to help work with and nurture star pass-catcher Malik Nabers, whose status for the start of the regular season is still uncertain as he continues to recover from a torn ACL suffered last season.

The Giants have also brought in former Jets receiver Braxton Berrios and ex-Steelers star JuJu Smith-Schuster, who worked with new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy when the two were with the Kansas City Chiefs.

All these moves are coming on the heels of Gunnar Olszewski tearing his Achilles tendon last week during OTAs. New York also added Calvin Austin, Darnell Mooney, and Ryan Miller this offseason after losing Wan’Dale Robinson to free agency.
