Free community event brings together law enforcement, first responders, public safety partners, businesses, and downtown community members

On Tuesday, August 4, more than 38 million neighbors across 17,000 communities will participate in National Night Out, an annual campaign that strengthens relationships between communities and public safety agencies through neighborhood events.

In Sacramento, Downtown Sacramento Partnership invites the community to attend Downtown’s National Night Out at Ali Youssefi Square (705 K Street in Sacramento) from 4-7 p.m., bringing together employees, residents, businesses, and the public safety partners who serve the district every day.

Downtown’s National Night Out is a free community event where attendees can meet law enforcement, first responders, and community organizations while enjoying food trucks, family-friendly activities, and building connections with the people working every day to help keep downtown Sacramento safe and welcoming.

“A safe downtown is built through collaboration,” said Michael Ault, Executive Director of Downtown Sacramento Partnership. “National Night Out brings together the agencies, organizations, businesses, residents, and employees who all play a role in creating a welcoming downtown. We’re proud to provide an opportunity for those relationships to grow in a fun and approachable setting.”

Participating public safety partners include:

  • Sacramento Police Department
  • Sacramento Fire Department
  • California Highway Patrol
  • California State Parks
  • HQ Security
  • and more
