A new vibrant pop-up restaurant has opened in Manhattan as the Ritz-Carlton NoMad launched Dahlia’s Garden and Terrace, an open-air dining space, just in time for the prime of summer.
The concept is located on the hotel’s fifth floor and features a large patio with great views of the Empire State Building and the surrounding impressive New York City architecture. The outside space has been transformed into a mosaic of greenery with vines and plants covering the area.
While the space is beautiful, it’s the food and beverage service that makes Dahlia’s stand out most.
The set menu features plenty of delicious bites which draw on fresh flavors that are perfect for summer. Some of the highlights include oysters topped with caviar and an octopus ceviche which is served with a mango salsa and plantain chips. The textures on the latter work together perfectly as the crunchy chips provide a great vehicle for the fresh ceviche and salsa.
In addition, a crispy crostini with prosciutto, peach and goat cheese on top is a wonderful summer bite. A miso soy-cured caviar toast is another luxurious bite that hits all the perfect savory notes.
The drinks are also exceptional with the bar whipping up creative and delicious concoctions. Many of the options have fresh flavours which fits the season and they have frozen cocktails which are perfect to beat the heat. One of the drinks is served in a bird-shaped glass which will turn heads in any Instagram post.
The summer pop-up is open from Thursday to Saturday and offers two seatings per day at 5 and 7 p.m. Bookings can be made on Resy ahead of time or you can test your luck with a walk-in. Tickets for a seating cost $150 and that price includes your food and drink.
The team behind Dahlia’s has said to expect different collaborations throughout the summer which should offer unique, new beverage options. Keep an eye on the Ritz-Carlton NoMad Instagram account, where any updates will be posted.
The Ritz-Carlton NoMad, located at Broadway and 28th street, also features several other dining options including Bazaar Meat, a Mediterranean restaurant called Zaytina, and a rooftop lounge called Nubeluz, all designed by celebrity chef José Andrés.
