Byron Donalds, Wilton Simpson, James Uthmeier, Blaise Ingoglia and Ashley Moody will sit down for one-on-one conversations with the ‘Voice of Florida Business.’
Associated Industries of Florida will bring the five top-of-ticket Republicans together in Orlando this Fall for a forum centered on the state’s business climate.
The lineup includes U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, who is running for Governor; Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, who is seeking re-election; and three appointed incumbents seeking election in their own right: Attorney General James Uthmeier, CFO Blaise Ingoglia and U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody.
The program will feature separate one-on-one conversations between AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis and each candidate who has received AIF’s endorsement.
The pro-business lobby said the conversations will focus on workforce development, infrastructure, insurance, energy and regulatory policy, giving business leaders a closer look at how the candidates would approach issues affecting employers and the state economy.
“Florida’s continued success depends on leaders who understand the needs of employers, entrepreneurs, and job creators,” Bevis said. “This forum will give our members and the broader business community the opportunity to hear directly from candidates about how they plan to keep Florida competitive, attract investment, and create opportunities for businesses of every size.”
The AIF Center for Political Strategy Statewide Candidate Forum will be held at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort on Oct. 12, a day ahead of AIF’s Fall Political & Policy Retreat.
