A man died Saturday night during a rock concert at Madison Square Garden after authorities say it appeared he fell from an elevated position.

According to police sources, EMS were called to the world-famous arena in Midtown at around 9:50 p.m. on June 20 after a 51-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive.

He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending proper family notification.

While police are still investigating exactly what took place, they reported that his injuries appeared to be indicative of a fall. However, how he fell and the extent to which he plummeted is not clear. However, sources familiar with the incident report that the man — who was with family at the time of the tragic incident — fell from an elevated seating section during the show.

One Reddit commenter claimed to have witnessed the incident.

“We saw the entire thing and it actually impacted us physically we left I get why they have to keep playing. But there’s absolutely no way that we wanted to be part of anything with MSG moving for tonight,” one person wrote in a thread.

“Same. Was 8 seats away. Heard felt and saw it. MSG gave us wristbands for pit and we dipped. I’m sorry you experienced this,” another wrote.

Goose, a four-man rock band that was founded in 2014, released a statement following the death.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”
