The Seattle-based glass company glassybaby is teaming up with Pokémon to launch an exclusive product line for the brand’s 30th anniversary and is launching the collaboration at a NYC pop-up this weekend.

Glassybaby, which specializes in hand-blown glass votives, is the latest brand to collaborate with the beloved Japanese franchise.

“For 30 years, Pokémon has sparked imagination across generations. In 2026, that spark becomes flame with our glassybaby collection,” said Lee Rhodes, founder of glassybaby. “At glassybaby, everything we create begins with the belief that light holds meaning.  Bringing these beloved Pokémon into hand blown glass felt like the natural meeting of two worlds rooted in collectability, authenticity and joy.”

Rhodes told amNewYork that Pokémon reached out to glassybaby to team up for the brand’s 30th anniversary, as it has with brands such as Lego and McDonald’s. Pokémon worked closely with glassybaby to create a special line of glass to celebrate the brand’s lasting impact across the world.

“We make everything by hand in Seattle, and I think [Pokémon] just wanted a new partner that’s kind of our size and does beautiful things,” said Rhodes. “We, at one point, were like ‘Oh, we’ll just put really bright Pokémon characters on some of our really bright glassybabies because we have thousands of colors, and they said no. They want elegant, etched [pieces] — so they really drove this design. It’s really beautiful at the end of the day.”

The glassbaby x Pokémon debut spring collection features votives inspired by Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Eevee, each etched into a votive and set on a vibrant color that matches the character’s base color. Later this year, glassybaby will unveil additional Pokémon characters for the collection.

Each Pokémon votive retails for $170, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the upporting the glassybaby Foundation. To date, glassybaby has contributed over $16 million to charitable causes.

To celebrate the launch, glassybaby is hosting a pop-up in Soho, located at 422 West Broadway, from May 21-24. Guests will be able to shop glassybaby’s entire collection, including the new Pokémon collection and a new New York City-exclusive collection, called New Yorker, that you can’t get anywhere else.

“When you make a glassybaby, you design it to look [a certain way], but every single glassblower is a righty, a lefty, a woman, a man, good mood, broken up with, whatever, and they all come to make glass and glass, it’s like a ballet every single day. That’s what I love about glassybaby, every single one of them is different,” said Rhodes. “[New Yorker] were just beautiful and summery. We knew we were coming here in the summer; they used a darker teal, so it’s much more intense, and this just seemed really mellow. It’s very New York to me.”

The glassybaby pop-up will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 21-24. For more information or to shop the Pokémon collection online, visit glassybaby.com.
