The British artisan chocolatier Chococo is making its debut in New York City with two new store locations.
Chococo makes handcrafted chocolates, small-batch gelato, hot chocolate, and brownies, giving its customer base many ways to enjoy fine chocolate. Chococo’s first NYC location is now open on the Upper East Side, located at 1293 3rd Ave. The brand’s flagship NYC location is set to open at 500 Madison Avenue on Fifth Avenue on May 2.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Claire and Andy Burnet, Chococo is celebrated for its direct-trade, single-origin chocolate sourced from Ecuador, Colombia, and Madagascar, as well as its use of fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. For over 20 years, Chococo has won over 130 national and international food awards for their work, and ensures full traceability from cocoa farm to finished products.
The opening of the New York stores is the brand’s first international venture, and will continue to grown with a new location coming soon in San Marino, Italy.

“Launching Chococo in the United States is an exciting new chapter, and New York felt like the perfect place to begin,” said Claire Burnet. “Our Chocolate Houses are an invitation to experience what chocolate can be when craftsmanship and sourcing are never compromised. That’s what Chococo has always stood for. Chocolate inspires us every day and we’re ready to share that with New York.”
Like its British counterparts, the New York Chococo locations will feature the brand’s award-winning chocolate, including a rotating seasonal collection featuring signature couvertures, fresh truffles, curated selection boxes, single bars, and artisan hot chocolate. The stores will also feature a specialty coffee program in partnership with Abbotsford Road Coffee, artisan pastries from SMOR, and premium gelato by Il Laboratorio del Gelato, each crafted to complement Chococo’s chocolate.

At the Madison Avenue flagship, guests will have exclusive moments not found anywhere else, such as a chocolate tasting where guests can sample selections from over 100 chocolate varieties. The store will also offer a workshop where guests can customize, and hand paint their own Chococo chocolate bar.
The May 2 opening of the Madison Avenue store will feature a grand opening celebration with a ribbon-cutting and interactive moments for guests.
