For her efforts, Linda was lately named the “New Yorker of the Week’ by NY1. After seeing that Linda obtained that honor from NY1, Borough President Fossella thought it was solely becoming that she be named “Staten Islander of the Week.”
Borough President Fossella referred to Linda as the kind of one who dives in when she sees a necessity.
“There’s a key phrase referred to as advantage — the advantage of simply giving again,” stated Borough President Fossella throughout a small gathering with Linda’s household and associates in his workplace. “All of these issues are achieved in quiet solitude with out fanfare and with none want to search for consideration or for a pat on the again. Linda, you present up when others don’t present up, you present up when others run away. Each time one individual steps in, it makes a distinction and Linda, you’ve got made a distinction — and we thanks.”
Linda’s calling to volunteer started after 9/11 and continued to develop after she retired.
“I don’t suppose I do all that a lot, it simply looks like I do,” she stated. “I simply have enjoyable with all of the organizations that I volunteer for. I really like the those who I meet they usually develop into lifetime associates.”
