Detectives in Manhattan are searching for the pervert who attempted to invade an 83-year-old woman’s apartment and rape her earlier this week.
The NYPD released on Thursday night images and video of the suspect wanted for the heinous incident, which occurred at 8:55 a.m. on Oct. 26 inside an apartment building near the intersection of Vermilyea Avenue and West 204th Street in Inwood.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator followed the victim into the apartment building and confronted her as she attempted to enter her home. Cops said the suspect exposed himself to her and made sexual advances toward her while trying to force his way inside her residence.

That led to a brief physical struggle, during which the victim was able to fend off her attacker. Police said the suspect then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.
The incident was reported to the 34th Precinct. Responding EMS units treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries, law enforcement sources said.
As shown in the security camera footage that police provided, the suspect appears to have a dark complexion with a goatee; he was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a black jacket, black pants, and gray shoes while also carrying a black-and-red backpack.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X (formerly Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
