The New York Giants offense dragged its feet to its second win of the season against the Tennessee Titans, scoring zero touchdowns, but putting up 12 points on four field goals.
Backup quarterback Jameis Winston struggled in a game that he later dedicated to injured starter Jaxson Dart. The 32-year-old completed only 14 of his 22 pass attempts while racking up 118 yards. His overall accuracy was rough during his zero-touchdown performance. Winston was notably weak on deep throws, which may be an underlying issue.
Second-year running back Cam Skattebo had a big workload in Week 3. While he had 20 carries, he was only able to record 60 yards with a long of 13. Najee Harris performed well as the RB2, reaching 50 yards in a game for the first time since December of 2024.
While the Giants offense has heavily faltered since their 28-point Week 1 victory against the Dallas Cowboys, their defense has shown many signs of life. Big Blue’s defense held the Titans to just seven points on Sunday.
While the game went sack-less, with the Giants only recording one sack in their first three games, Giants’ safety Jevon Holland recorded a game-sealing interception in the endzone late in the fourth quarter.
The Giants face another interesting matchup going into Week 4, meeting the Arizona Cardinals at home.
The Cardinals are 1-2 coming off of a 36-30 loss against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. Their pass-heavy offense, led by quarterback Jacoby Brissett, has performed nicely for the most part. Brissett threw 52 passes against the Niners on Sunday, completing 38 of them while racking up 280 yards and two touchdowns. He is putting up productive numbers for a weak Cardinals team.
Their defense has been an issue all season long, allowing an average of 27 points per game, a statistic that has crushed them in the past two games.
The key to success for the Giants going into Week 4 will be to attack the defense heavily. The Cardinals are last in the NFL on Yards Per Play allowed (6.5) this season; Jameis Winston will need to tap into his former self to be able to drag this Giants team to a win.
The Cardinals are the slight favorite going into this game, but this Giants team has been able to find ways to win so far, even with a plethora of injuries.
