Synergy between POTUS and his pick for Governor continues.
Gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds will be in the Lone Star State next week, speaking at the GOP Midterm Convention in Dallas on either Sept. 9 or 10.
The Donald Trump helmed event may have been more useful to the Congressman before the Primary, rather than with less than two months to go before the General Election, in which Donalds will need to appeal to independents and Democrats not enamored with the President’s brand.
A recent Civiqs tracking poll shows Trump 11 points underwater in the state.
Donalds is not the only speaker from Florida. Republican National Committee Chair Joe Gruters and U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna are also on the speaking schedule.
Gruters says the event will draw contrasts.
“This election comes down to one simple choice: lower costs, lower taxes, secure borders, and common sense versus higher taxes, wide open borders, and the radical liberal agenda the Democrat Party has fully embraced,” said Gruters.
“Republicans are the party of hardworking, patriotic Americans who believe in a fair day’s pay, safe streets, secure borders, and a government that gets out of our way and lets Americans win again. Democrats have chosen a different path. They have chosen a path hijacked by the radical Left and defined by their most extreme, out-of-touch, anti-American views. Come November, the American people are going to see this choice clearly and they are going to deliver a landslide for common sense.”
Trump repeated his endorsement for Donalds many times before the Primary last month. Now in the General Election, Donalds gets a chance to reciprocate as one of a handful of statewide candidates to take the stage.
Donalds was out of state at the end of last month to appear on the Bill Maher show. He rebutted Maher’s contention that Donalds has a problem with White base voters, and held forth on accused child killer Lindsay Clancy as well as accused john and San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York on that program.
