Odell Beckham Jr.’s reunion with the Giants is now official, as the veteran wide receiver has made the 2026 53-man roster, according to multiple reports on Sunday.
Beckham, who was drafted by New York and spent five years with the organization in his first stint, was brought on by new head coach John Harbaugh with plenty to prove. He missed the entire 2025 season due to a suspension before going unsigned.
Understanding his role as a receiver firmly on the roster bubble, Beckham did nearly everything right this preseason: He still showed a natural ability to get open and was dependable when his number was called.
His place on the Giants’ roster, though, was firmed up when Calvin Austin went down with a torn ACL last week, making him a No. 5 option behind Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields, Darius Slayton, and Darnell Mooney. Had Austin not gotten hurt, and had Harbaugh opted to even carry six receivers, he would have been contending for a final spot with fellow veteran and former Jet Braxton Berrios.
Beckham’s role will be in no way the same as it was when he first broke into the league with Big Blue. He eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in four of his five seasons in New York, and the lone one in which he did not was limited to just four games due to injury. This time around, he provides second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart with a veteran outside option and a mentor for Nabers, who is entering his third professional season.
