Former Senate candidate Alex Vindman lost the Democratic Senate Primary but still hopes to help his party win a Senate majority.
The South Florida Democrat, who raised more than $16 million for his Senate run, just made a total $250,000 investment in battleground races. That included funding across the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and specifically to several specific campaigns.
Those include Democratic Senate nominees Mary Peltola in Alaska, Josh Turek in Iowa, Troy Jackson in Maine, Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Chris Pappas in New Hampshire, Roy Cooper in North Carolina, Sherrod Brown in Ohio and Charles Booker in Kentucky, as well as no-party candidate Dan Osborn in Nebraska. All but El-Sayed and Pappas aim to flip seats now held by Republicans.
“Voters across the country, especially here in Florida, know that nothing is more important than flipping the U.S. Senate,” Vindman said.
“The only way to cut costs for working families, root out corruption in D.C., and finally hold the Trump administration accountable is to deliver a Democratic majority this November. I am proud to invest in Florida and across the country to make sure Democrats win big on Election Day up and down the ballot.”
Vindman’s unwinding campaign also noted he had made a $400,000 investment in the Florida Democratic Party to help win statewide elections here, including supporting Nixon’s bid to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody.
“Florida Democrats have a strong slate of candidates ready to lead, from the federal level all the way down to School Boards and County Commissions, and I want to make sure they have the resources they need to win,” Vindman said at the time. “Beating Donald Trump’s agenda means winning at every level, and I’m all-in to help Democrats do exactly that this November.”
Vindman raised a substantial amount based on his background as a whistleblower in Trump’s first administration whose testimony led to the President’s first impeachment.
