The New York Islanders announced eight final designs that will be in the running for the team’s next third jersey, which will be worn during the 2027-28 season.

The team received 80,409 fan entries last month — the first time in NHL history that a team will feature a fan-designed uniform in its regular rotation.

Fans will now be able to vote for the final eight designs in a bracket-style competition to determine the winning jersey. Voting for the first round will open on Aug. 12 at 12 p.m. ET and run through 5 p.m. on Aug. 14. Fans can click here to vote.

The design matchups have been broken down by themes: Lighthouse vs. Lighthouse, Fisherman vs. Fisherman, NY vs. NY, and Isles vs. Islanders.

The second round of voting will run from Aug. 15-17, and Round 3 will run from Aug. 18-20. The winner will be unveiled in the following days.

“Islanders fans have once again blown us away with their incredible creativity and the
sheer volume of participation,” Kelly Cheeseman, president of business operations
for the Islanders and UBS Arena, said. “Both the passion of our fans and their overwhelming support throughout this contest have been extraordinary. From over 80,000 submissions down to our final bracket of eight, every step of this journey proves just how deeply invested Isles Nation is in the identity of this franchise.”
