Housing Works Cannabis Co., NYC’s only charity-based dispensary, is embracing summer in the city with a new line of pre-roll bundles that celebrate iconic city neighborhoods.
Just freshly launched this month, each pre-roll bundle contained three selected pre-rolls that Housing Works Cannabis Co. says match the vibes of those neighborhoods. The pre-roll bundles highlight Harlem, Midtown, the West Village, Soho, and the Upper East Side.
Sasha Nutget, Vice President of Retail at Housing Works Cannabis Co., told amNewYork that the preroll bundles were created in part to appeal to tourists, as many of their regulars are often traveling for the summer.
“Our New York customers will go to the Hamptons, they go on vacation, they enjoy their summers, and then we have an influx of tourists. We have all these specials that we sell, but tourists aren’t really that interested in them because they’re larger quantities. They don’t want to buy an 8 or 14 ounce, they want something that they can just smoke and enjoy,” said Nutget. “So we decided what better way to engage with those tourists than to provide them with a bundle that is really quick and simple.”
Nutget also noted that these neighborhoods were chosen because this is where Housing Works has physical locations.
“We wanted to incorporate the neighborhoods that Housing Works Inc. is in. Also, these are neighborhoods that are most often visited by tourists,” said Nutget.
Each bundle features a blend that Housing Works Cannabis Co. believes fits the neighborhood represented. For example, the Harlem Bundle features Sativas that include uplifting strains selected to complement sightseeing, live music, museums, and neighborhood exploration, while the West Village Bundle has hybrid strains that supports a slower pace, perfect for wandering side streets, cafes and small business shopping.
Each preroll pack comes with a free limited-edition lighter. Here’s a quick breakdown of the bundles:
- Midtown Bundle: features a Bouket | Blue Nerdz – 1g, Lion Order | Giraffe Head – 1g, Dank Apple Fritter – 0.5g, retails for $35
- Harlem Bundle: features a Heady Tree Da Yayo 1g, 1 Heady Tree Pineapple Slushee 1g, 1 Dank Orange Trainwreck 1g, retails for $40
- West Village Bundle: features a Flamer Silly Goofy 0.75g, Florist Farms Super Banana Runtz Live Resin Infused 1g, Dank Rainbow Sherbert 1g, retails for $40
- Soho Bundle: features a JOINTS XL Supreme Purps Infused 2g, Find Modified Goat 1g, Dank Alien Cookies 1g, retails for $55
- Upper East Side Bundle: features a Heady Tree Blue Lobster 1g, Find Modified Goat 1g, Bouket | Blue Nerdz – 1g, retails for $55
“We wanted to make it a price point that just makes sense if you bundle everything together, and plus they get the free lighter,” said Nutget.
Nutget told amNewYork that since the bundles are so new, the team at Housing Works Cannabis Co. wants to see how they perform before expanding, but making more bundles based on other NYC neighborhoods is not outside the realm of possibility.
“We also have two shops in Brooklyn. Brooklyn isn’t featured this round, but maybe for the next round, we’d like to feature Brooklyn. But really, any prominent New York City neighborhood we’d love to create a bundle for,” said Nutget.
