A small seaplane crashed into the East River on Sunday while trying to land, prompting a rescue.

According to police sources, a private plane tilted into the water just off 38th Street around noon when it attempted to make a scheduled landing. The plane’s wing dipped below the river, and the vehicle began to take on water but did not capsize.

The NYPD Harbor unit and FDNY immediately deployed rescue crews who evacuated six passengers and two pilots.

There were no reported injuries and no one was hospitalized. The plane was guided to shore via tug boat.

The investigation into how the crash occurred remains ongoing.
